Westfield Community Education
Two levels of GED Preparation classes are offered that cover all subject content. GED Level-1 classes begin with material normally introduced at the Middle School grade level. GED Level-2 classes focus on material normally covered at the High School grade level. You'll learn tips on how to take the GED Test and how to use the assigned calculator. Weekly attendance is required. Homework is assigned and a textbook is provided. Tutoring is also available. GED Level-2 classes are scheduled Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4:00-6:00pm and GED Level-1 classes are scheduled Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00-8:00 pm, both for 30 weeks. For students in both GED Preparation courses, a required Computer Literacy & Career Development course is scheduled on Wednesdays from 6-8pm.
Computer Literacy & Career Development program includes instruction in Microsoft Office and Word, use of the mouse, improving word processing speed and accuracy, resume development and creating of a cover letter to apply for employment positions. Also reviewed will be electronic job search and applying on-line. This course meets at the Clark Building on the campus of Western Mass. Hospital, 128 East Mountain Road, Westfield.
